Cult –
A group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc
Cult –
Obsessive, especially faddish, devotion to or veneration for a person, principle, or thing.
Has sad and unnerving as it may be for many of us to accept, it is now overwhelmingly clear that there is an obsessive, malignant cult alive in the area. Perhaps you’ve heard them at a meeting, or maybe you’ve read one of their e-mails.
You can tell them apart from non-cult members by the way they talk. They always speak in a hysteric manner which is full of hate and anger. Their “arguments” are base in gossip and conjecture while preying on peoples deep seeded fears through overly emotional public appeals. They are relentlessly. They are obsessive.
They are devoted to one thing… the fall of Midtown.

um...this is the same post as #7...that you posted under a different name...kinda unethical isn't it? suddenly people start asking questions like "if s/he is just one, and the cult...couldn't s/he also be parent, and guest, and all those other unregisterd users?" mabie you should have read the board before posting, there are at least 2 posts that answer this accusation. in 2 months you havn't come up with anything better than the same post you did at #7? are those the definitions of a cult that midtown tells you? why don't you read the other posts, and give us somthing new for a change (rather than your emotonal appeals, and falicies in logic).

Whatever happened to the media coverage and criminal investigations? There hasn’t been anything in the papers or the news in almost a month. I also thought that there were going to be lawsuits and indictments regarding all of the underage sex allegations? Have people lost their nerve or have they gotten complacent? Or… was this all just a bunch of baseless gossip and people have finally figured it out and are not listening to a bunch of resentful hysterics anymore?

Well. the police have looked into everyone, and they have no interest in going after the people in midtown. They know that there is nothing illegal going on. Also the news realized that you can only print and televise unsubstantiated stories for so long before the truth finally wins out. T There was never a chance that Midtown people were going to go to Jail, because there were never legal problems. These were claims made up so that CFG could make everything look real. I have no interest on either side, but i do think that people should be aware that the Kids at Midtown are continuing to go to a meeting everyday, and continuing to help the new person. God Bless

So your reasoning is...midtown got kicked out of 3 churches pending the results of the church investigation (are you alowed in yet?)Has become a catchphrase for Cults of personality, has myspace, facebook, blogs, etc set up exposing them as a cult, has members who are unable to defend themselves from cult activities (see just one's consistant and flawed post) is unable to go into treatment centers, isn't allowed in clubhouses, dosnt allow its new members to go to outside meetings...and because a criminal investigation hasn't been wraped up in a month (come on! This isn't telivision, stop judging reality on CSI,it takes at least a year to bring to trial anything of this nature) you are declaring yourselves anulled of any wrongdoing. That's just plain dumb.
Besides, who is going to take over when Mike dies? If you arnt a cult that statement has no meening, however that is a consern for midtown isn't it. Will you break into factions led by the lutenits, or will you desolve? If you are questioning this, then you actualy belong to a cult. Sorry but it is true.

The reason those meetings are no longer held at those 3 churches, is that CFG terrorized the church officials with phone calls, threatening emails, and then News crews.
No one with less than 6 months has even met mike so i think it is a moot point as to what will happen when he dies.
I would recomend calling and asking the police yourself to see what they have to say.

Comment -- sponsorship most definitely appears in the 12 and 12, e.g., page 46, step 4, re the moral inventory.
Qustion -- what meetings are Midtown controlled?
